Description: South Pacific Scarlet is more floriferous than most cannas, boasting 6 to 7 stems per plant topped with 4 to 4 1/2 inch, scarlet, orchid-like blooms. Plants grow 4 to 5 feet tall and 12 to 18 inches wide, (a little shorter if grown in containers and cold-climate areas), their stems lined with large, paddle-shaped, deep green leaves. They thrive in a full sun location in garden beds, borders and containers, blooming early and steadily all summer, even withstanding a light frost in fall. Like other cannas, they tolerate wet conditions, making them useful as a pond border or other moisture-laden areas.
